Charge the Batteries When Not in Use
Electric golf carts completely eliminate the need for gas. This also saves you the money you would otherwise have to spend on refueling. However, it is important to ensure that the electric golf carts are properly charged all the time. If you don't charge the golf cart regularly, its battery will die and you will have to charge it all the way before you can use it again. Instead of that, it is better to simply charge the electric golf carts when you are not using them.
Check the Batteries' Water Levels on a Regular Basis
Charging your electric carts' batteries is one part of keeping them running properly. However, you also have to check the water levels in these batteries. The batteries' lead plates have to be completely submerged so that the batteries work properly. In the event that you find the lead plates are not completely submerged, you will have to add water.
First, you should completely charge the batteries. After that, add distilled water to the batteries directly until the water levels are roughly half an inch above the batteries' lead plates. You might have to check the water levels and add water every month. That depends on how frequently you use your golf carts. You should remember to do this to avoid serious problems with your batteries.
Clean the Batteries' Connections
You should check the batteries' connections whenever you check the water levels. All of the batteries' connections should both be tight and clean as well. There should not be any dirt or corrosion on the connections inside the batteries of the golf carts. If there is, combine baking soda and water to make a solution and clean these connections. This will help the batteries maintain good connections so they charge properly.
Fill up the Tires
You should also take a look at the tires on your golf carts and check their air pressure roughly every week. If the air pressure is low, fill up the tires with air immediately. This helps ensure that your tires won't wear out more quickly than expected. As a result, your golf carts will continue to work well.
